GIVE Thanks

As Tony Robbins says,
“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.”

Do the twists and turns of life take you by surprise? Throw you off? Keep you from finding a reason to be thankful?

In our world of deadlines and demands, it’s easy to take things for granted, never feeling a genuine sense of gratitude. Yet if we gravitate to a place of awe and wonder, where time stands still, we may realize in that moment that we are right with the world. The spirit of gratitude is especially fitting this holiday season as we look to those who have been on the journey with us, acknowledging them with gifts of thanks.

Celebrating Gratitude. View story

I received this in an email today and had to share :)

The Holidays

What are the holidays truly all about? I guess the holidays have different meanings to different people.

  • You have the Shopaholics
  • You have the Religaholics
  • You have the Famaholics
  • You have the Partyholics
  • You have the  Depressaholics
  • You have the Relaxaholics
  • You have the Hostaholics
  • You still have the workaholics
  • And you have the Moochaholics

Have I left anyone out? I think I have covered all of us. Some of you may belong to multiple categories. But no matter what the category we all still want to and wish to buy gifts for one another. The last few years economic situation has really hit hard for most of us this year. This is causing a lot more depressaholics and a less shopaholics.

I guess times like this really bring up the true reason for the season.  No, I am not going to go religaholic on you.  This holiday season is really a time for friends and to pull together. Celebrate what is really important. No not the gifts! Each other! Dont forget to be thankful to your creator. Even when times are rough, God is there for you! It may not feel like it right in the middle of the storm, but he is.

is what we make of it. This year we will not have traditional gifts and I will not go shopping on black FridayFriday reviewsFriday reviews or any other day for gifts. Not because I don’t want to but because we are having a really rough financial time right now.  But what I will do is make the most of it. We are going to the dollar store and we are going to make coupon cards. We will play games like the Price is Right and let the kids (11, 13, and 16) when these little presents. This will make fun even with out gifts. We will watch movies and eat popcorn.  We might even play a scavenger hunt. After all we have the most important gift of all each other!

If you are fortunate enough to help others out this is the time to do so . Some times a simple smile or just listening is enough. If you can, giving to a friend or a neighbor or someone you dont know now that is a gift all in itself. That is the kind of gift that makes you feel warm on the inside. If you can donate please donate. But if you cant, make some one smile :) It is still a beautiful season.

God Bless You All and Merry

Angy

My son just turned 16. woo hoo I guess. He has only been 16 for 4 days and Holy Moly is there a switch in their brain when they turn 16 that turns them into raging hormones, children that think they are adults? He has had his license for about 36 hours and he has already going places he didn’t tell us about! Then he tried the whole I didn’t know thing…… yeah uh huh. Which resulted in us driving around to find him. We then had a long talk, about why we needed to know where he was. You know the whole accident thing. No one knowing where he was, what if he needed help. By the end of the conversation, he admitted he was wrong and that he had no defense for what he did. He also understood that there would be massive consequences for a repeat offense. I think we may have been able to put a leash on the beast for a minute or two. Anyone else have teens and stories?

Gold Canyon Vs Yankee Candle

Competition for the Yankee Candle is finally here. The Yankee Candle is definitely known because of its large variety and long lasting scents. But watch out Gold Canyon candles are definitely right on Yankee Candles heels. Gold Canyon is providing the same great quality and variety as Yankee Candles but for less money out of your pocket book. Face the facts we can all use that in these times and especially with the holidays coming up.

Why should you purchase Gold Canyon candles? They tend to burn more evenly due to the fact that they are double-wicked. Yankee Candles are not. They also tend to last longer and burn cleaner. The best reason of all is you are getting more quality for your money, without having to sacrifice selection.

Melissa Smith’s Gold Canyon Story

Simply stated … I love candles. Ever since I can remember, I love the way a candle can change your mood or bring back a memory or even just create warmth in your favorite room. So being the candle addict I am, I’ve seen just about every scented candle out there.

But then one day my neighbor gave me a catalog and showed me her candles, and it was love at first scent! The long-lasting fragrance really impressed me and I couldn’t believe how many different fragrances there were! I had been looking for a job that would give me the freedom to be a stay-at-home mom, and still be able to earn some extra money.

After thinking about it, I decided to become an Independent Demonstrator. I love the opportunity of introducing new people to Gold Canyon candles and reaching levels of success that I never before thought possible. With such a high quality product, it’s so easy to do! If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a Gold Canyon Demonstrator or Host, please e-mail me!

Self Development Phase1

I have a lot of things going on right now to try and make me a better me.  I am trying to better myself; spiritual, mentally, physically, and financially.  The financially thing just never seem to go quite the way I would like it to, quite honestly neither does the mental or physical thing.  So this time I am focusing on all at the same, in place of just one or the other.

Spiritually:

I am trying to wake up a few minutes earlier and make sure I talk one on one with God for a moment.  I am also trying make sure to remind my kids to pray everyday and say grace at the dinner table. I try to start off my day with a few modern upbeat christian songs. This doesn’t always happens but when my radio is working in my car it does. :) I know I need a little help here and there and I can not do everything on my own.

Financially:

We have developed a budget at home to keep track of our spending. This is a slow and painful process. Feeding 3 teenagers on a small budget is easy. Of course neither is clothing or trying to entertain 3 teenagers.

Mentally:

We are starting off by reading the The 7 Habits of Highly Effective PeopleThe 7 Habits of Highly Effective People reviewsThe 7 Habits of Highly Effective People reviews. This is something that my husband and I are doing together. We are also carrying a note book to write down things to do and things we learn through out the day. This helps keep us on the right track and makes it easier to remember all the things that need to be done during the day and through out the week. This has already helped organize our . The kids are marking their own planners and calendars to help ensure there chores, homework and etc are completed.

Physically:

We have started exercising by going to the gym 1 to 2 to 3 days a week. Its a start people. We have also been trying to eat better. Although going to McDonlad’s, well that still isn’t completely gone yet and isn’t helping us physically or financially.  LOL

I know these are all baby steps but they are a start to lead me in the right direction.

Music Site Reviews

There are lots of music sites available on the net. They all appear much alike. All of these sites are allowing you to either download or listen to music 100% legally. Most of these sites require that you subscribe before you download, you can usually download as much music as you like after you pay for the subscription. Music on these sites are normally downloaded in some type of protected format. This is to ensure that you continue your membership so you will be able to maintain listening to the songs that you have downloaded. You may be given a choice to purchase the formatted versions of any songs you like for a separate fee ranging from around $0.75 to $0.99 per song. Those songs are now 100% yours, and will even work even if you discontinue your membership.
